L.A. LIVE CHAMPION TIMOTHY J. LEIWEKE TO KEYNOTE THE BENJAMIN S. CROCKER SYMPOSIUM ON REAL ESTATE LAW & BUSINESS 2009

Proskauer Rose Partner Eric Remensperger chairs Symposium for the second consecutive year

For Immediate Release
February 19, 2009

LOS ANGELES, CA - Timothy J. Leiweke, chief catalyst behind the L.A. LIVE entertainment complex, will serve as the opening keynote speaker for the Benjamin S. Crocker Symposium on Real Estate Law & Business 2009. The Symposium will be held May 5, 2009 at the LEED-certified Los Angeles Convention Center, adjacent to the new L.A. LIVE entertainment complex, and will provide unparalleled education and networking opportunities for real estate attorneys and business professionals in the Southern California real estate industry.

Mr. Leiweke is the President and CEO of AEG, one of the world’s largest sports and entertainment investors. His keynote will address the experiences and challenges he faced during the conception and development of L.A. LIVE. Mr. Leiweke will also share critical insights into ways to successfully complete a development project in the Southern California real estate community.

“This year’s Symposium will be particularly thought-provoking, due not only to the impact that the economy and stresses in the financial markets will have on real estate, but also because of the very significant changes that have occurred in the regulatory framework for new development projects in California. Hearing the perspectives of those at the forefront of the industry will be invaluable to investors and lenders alike, as we enter this new paradigm,” said Eric Remensperger, partner-in-charge of the West Coast Real Estate practice at Proskauer Rose LLP, who is chairing the Symposium for the second consecutive year. “In addition, having Mr. Leiweke as a keynote speaker, and locating the event at the LA Convention Center, will contribute greatly to the overall dynamic of the Crocker Symposium.”

This marks the first year the Crocker Symposium will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, which is LEED-certified to fit the continuously growing demand for sustainable green development. It is also part of the new 5.6 million square foot L.A. Live entertainment destination where the best in sports, leisure and state of the art real estate developments come together in one place. The complex is home to Staples Center as well as the Nokia Theatre, the GRAMMY MuseumSM, Club Nokia, Lucky Strike Lanes & Lounge, the Conga Room, and ESPN Zone.

About the Crocker Symposium
The Real Property Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association first presented a real estate law symposium in 1972. In 1976, the Section named the symposium in honor of Benjamin S. Crocker (1935-1973), whose personal efforts significantly contributed to the growth of the Section and its mission of continuing legal education. While originally a program for real estate attorneys, the Benjamin S. Crocker Symposium was expanded into a "law and business" format commencing with the program in 2003, including education for real estate attorneys and members of the real estate business community. In 2007, the Section partnered with the Richard S. Ziman Center for Real Estate at UCLA (a joint center of the UCLA Anderson School of Management and the UCLA School of Law) to co-sponsor the 2008 Crocker Symposium. The 2009 program will be the 38th Annual Crocker Symposium.
